I agree with you as well. I thought I'd better limit my criticisms of Deere to those two for now but since this is a new post, let's continue. Deere's new 8000 series: too expensive, too complicated, and too big. Agco and New Holland can put 215 hp+ in a compact, versatile, and attractive package, why can't John Deere? CaseIH's older Magnums did too, but they recently made the mistake of going bigger like the Deere. Even Agco, for whom I have nothing but respect, went bigger in their new 10 series, although they did a far better job than John Deere did. The NH Genesis is still probably at the head of the pack, even though it was introduced over 6 years ago. I saw an interesting comparison between the Genesis and the Deere 8000 series. The NH is incredibly easy to service, total accessibility to everything, even the minor systems and components. John Deere fails miserably here. Nice cab, but that doesn't begin to make up for the other shortcomings. If I could afford a new tractor today, Agco and New Holland would be at the top of the list. Both have outstanding engines, electronic powershift transmissions, and good hydraulic capacity. They are more reasonably priced as well.
