But, if you can figure out where it was bought, they MIGHT give you some sort of pro-rated rebate, since it doesn't work. (probably don't mention that you think it was hooked up wrong).

My local junkyard sells used batteries, 15 bucks each. Always figured that would be a good source for a battery for something I didn't use too much.
