1952 Farmall M stuck in gear

We have a 1952 Farmall M - it's stuck in gear heading downhill on a fairly steep slope (in the middle of our driveway!) Previously, I have been able to get a pry bar into the hole where the gear shift lever is and move it - but this time, it just won't budge. It will start with the clutch, but won't drive or drift. Any ideas? Thanks.
