Check for any codes with scanner first.A bad temp sensor or TPS(throttle pos.)can cause this.
How does the fluid look?Bright pink?If not,change filter and flush.
If the fluid is bright pink,try flushing with synthetic ATF.It will be spendy,but will be worth it.
The 4L60-E is an overall good tranny,but does need to be maintained regularly.
