It is a early model VAC Case. I don't know what type of oil is in it. It is a low tone coming from the lower half of the block. It is not any lowder from the first second of start up to a minuet later. It is just after it is run around for a while that it really quiets down to where it is only heard lightly on the cam side. It really doesn't matter what the starting temperature is.
