You should check the packages for each before buying either.For what I have DTV was cheaper than Dish, for what my brother has, Dish was cheaper that DTV. I have no complaints with DTV,Ive had them since the mini dishes came out back in the 90s, waivering once to a lightning strike which took out both boxes I had, went with cablefor a month and dropped them because of the really poor service.I had DTV turned back on on new boxes, one with TIVO.
