When I was a kid my dad just handed us a shovel and would pull the keys. After we thought we had it dug out he'd come back to inspect our work then yell at us for a while before making us dig for a couple more hours. When it finally met his approval HE would start the tractor and drive it out, he didn't want us tearing up his equipment by trying to rock it out of a hole. Then we'd get the shovel back to fill in the hole. After a couple experiences like that you learned to stay the *&^% out of those spots.
