Sales taxes vary by tax jurisdiction. There can be up to 4 in any given place and there are an unbelievable number of rules and exceptions. I worked for two large U.S. companies over the years and they couldn"t get Atlanta sales taxes right (which is in 2 counties, backwards of how most of us think it would be) so I am sure there are plenty of places with a sales tax on pellets (and just about anything else in any combination you can think of!)
