Search the JD forum too as GMAN mentioned a different number gage in past post. Check with JD or if parts counter guys don't know for sure ask the shop foreman too before ordering it. If you got another sender or a variable resistance potientometer type switch laying around you can wire it to the gage and ground other side of switch and see if the gage moves back and forth properly. That will help you narrow it down if it's sender or gage or wiring also. Be sure to check the wiring from gage to sender for shorts also.
