Since the heads have been off, about the first thing I would look for is a ground wire that didn't get hooked back up onto a stud in one of the heads, or the intake manifold. There are a number of grounds that the computer uses to get an accurate ground reference when reading a number of sensors. Also, if the coolant temperature sensor got damaged, or is not connected, the 'puter won't have an accurate reading of the engine temperature, which it uses to compute the amount of fuel to inject, MORE when the engine is cold, the electronic version of the old-fashioned choke. Also, there MAY be an "charge air temperature sensor" in the air cleaner or ductwork that contributes a temperature figure to the 'puter, which uses it while calculating how much fuel to inject. You really need to have a talk with the 'puter, using a scan tool, to see what it's upset about!
