In addition to just letting them put up a banner you might have a place they could set up a booth to display what they sell or do. It is more work but I have found that meeting potential customers to be much more effective than hanging a sign. One of my best (and cheapest) advertising was setting up a booth at the local John Deere days. Put me right there with the people who needed my services.
