Hey Chief, This is a balancer. It's been MANY years since I worked on one (prior to joining the military in 85) but if memory serves me correctly...be sure to put the balancer back in correctly and timed. If not, that thing will try to jump sideways accross the shop. I didn't learn this lesson the hard way, but was present when someone else did. This was a lesson I will never forget.
