For a start, short circuit all the distributor side and plugs and plug-leads by checking for spark on the HT lead (from the coil) to earth.
Second, if you can"t get a spark from the Ketteringham system, you will probably have the same fault on the EI circuit.
The original ignition is so simple that anyone with any minimal test kit can fault-find easily.
Go back and get it working by systematically working through the circuit. All components, what few there are, are easily checked by a simple meter with volts, current and resistance ranges. It is just a matter of finding where the system is interrupted.
