About all you can do to slow it down is use a thicker oil but that will only slow it down for a while. In the long run you will need to rebuild the engine to fix it. If your useing a 30W oil or a muti weight oil going to a 40W or 50W will slow it down but in the long run you might get a year or 2 more out of it but in the true real end you will have to open it up and fix it
