For shade Soft Maple, to look at in the fall Hard Maple, for corner post Hedge. I don"t burn wood and never have, but from what my Dad had told me Red Oak for heat. My big barn is built out of Sycamore, I am 65 this month and I just can remember it being built when I was about 3 or 4.
