Case-IH Hy-Tran is the recommended fluid for the hydraulic system in just about every IH tractor, Hydro or not. Any good name-brand hydraulic fluid will work fine. It is true that some brands of hydraulic fluid are not compatible with other brands, as the additives can have negative reactions with each other. The best policy is to pick a good name-brand fluid, drain all of your tractors and fill them all with that brand, and then stick to that brand. Regular hyd. oil changes will go a long ways in making your Hydro last. Condensation will build up in the oil over time, and water is the hydro"s worst enemy next to dirt. Yearly oil changes are best for working tractors.
