Political Correctness has nothing to do with it. Personal property rights are slowly being weakened by the concepts of "Well, you're not using it" or "I'm not hurting anything" or "I'm really doing you a favor" or "It's better off if someone else owns it". People forget that owning personal property and having the right to maintain it the way you want is a basic principle of our country and seperates us from socialist European countries. Property lines are not to be crossed without permission and within the limits of the law. And the county officer that stated you had a "right" to go onto another person's property to cut some branches needs some remedial training on the subject of personal property rights or the legal definition of word "right". As for burning your bush pile, around here it requires a burn permit from the DNR so they can advise you on burning requirements and conditions and also know where to send the water trucks if it gets out-of-hand and crosses over to other peoples' property.
