After today I have once again wonder if I am wasting my time. See, what i deer hunt with is my grandfathers->then dads->no mine 12 ga model 12, winchester super X slugs, my rusty but trusty 93 k1500, and a portable stand. Well today another buddie stops over to sight in his new gun. A $1200 Benelli slug gun with a big ol scope, Some sabot slugs made in some other country I never heard of, driving a 2006 2500HD crew cab. Showed me some pics of his new deerstand, looks kinda like my 1st house on stilts. Oh my goodness, is that the secret, am I using obsolete equipment that the deer are resistant to. I dont know, I think I will stick to venison that cost me a few slugs and a liscence. Or does the best of the best make you a better hunter like some think the biggest and baddest equipment make you a better farmer. I think not. We'll seeI bet him a t-bone diner as well on best season. Tradition. Good SAFE harvest andhunting to you all.

New Life for an Old Allis - by Tyler Woods. My friend Jon, has an old '39 Allis Chalmers B. He thought it a marginal tractor that had long since served its time. She smoked terribly and never had much power but he couldn't afford another so he was limping along with what he had. Jon's Allis has a small front loader and though it doesn't carry much, it serves his needs. It was the hard starting and low power that made him think it was time to replace the old girl. Jon called me to help him discover why his tractor wouldn't start
