Not familiar with the 730, but my '48 B sometimes needs a little coaxing from one side to the other. All it takes is slightly engage the clutch, moving the transmission gears just enough to allow the shifter to go on over. May be a different story on yours.

We had a mixed farm consisting of grain and dairy all done with old machinery and by hand.
