Allan We call that "Moo Music" on our farm. We'll hear lots of it in early December. The Buzz up here is that the feed lots are looking for preconditioned calves. The boom in the oil fields has made it difficult for feed lots to find help. To compensate they want preweaned calves that have had their shots and an ivermectin. Calves should have been weaned a minimum of 6 weeks. This way they walk off the truck at the feedlot, walk straight up to the feeder and start eating. Almost no sick calves to check for or treat. All fine and dandy, but whether there will actually be a premium on these calves when they go through the ring has yet to be determined. John
