You will have a hard time finding a "stripper" on a dealer's lot. They make much of their profit on options. I suggest that you try spec'ing out a vehicle with the minimum options you want, then with a few extras, then fully loaded. You may be surprised at how little extra the "loaded" vehicle is over a vehicle with a few options. That's because of the package discounts when you get multiple options. For instance, with the last Chevy I bought, the limited slip differential was free if I ordered a couple other options. (I forget exactly which ones, but they call it the "power package".) Chevy and GM have good sites where you can spec out different options. I don't know about the other manufacturers, but you can buy a "new truck price guide" book to compare. Note that the discount packages change frequently; the dealers will have the latest info.
