Go Ahead and try it. I have a 1997 International semi tractor with a Cat engine. 3406/435 HP. I woke up one morning from sleeping in the truck and saw a 100+ foot long river of diesel fuel leading from my truck. OH Sh!!!! I called the truck dealer I trust and he said nothing to worry about. The orings on the injectors need to be replaced and when I get back just bring it in. There will be no harm in running it like that. 80 to 100 hours later it was fixed. That was 350,000 miles ago. In your situation, your only concern might be hoses that might not tolerate petrolium contact. If you think think it will penetrate the water pump and free it, I think you are safe to try it. Wayne
