Old diesel fuel

I have about 50 gal. of old diesel fuel. It is in a old tank Dad picked up years ago, I would guess it is 45 years old. I would like to get rid of the tank, but don't know what to do with the fuel. The fuel looks good, but am a little afraid to try and use it. I had a bad experience last year with old gasoline causing sticking valves. How long will diesel fuel last? Then there is the problen on how to get rid of the tank. Any info apprecitatd, Stan
