Stayed at home under the weather one day last Fall, in the basement, on the computer. Car was in the garage, no lights on, overcast day with a foot of snow on the ground, wife's tracks going out. I'm sure it looked for all the world like no one was at home. Around 11:00 AM our driveway sensor went off, I figured it was my wife coming home for lunch, and didn't get up from the computer. After some time the sensor went off again. I went upstairs and out. One of the aforementioned "Stewards of the forest" had driven up my lane, across my newly graded/seeded lawn (Sure, it was under snow so they couldn't tell, but c'mon), around the house, across the back pasture, and out again. As I followed the tracks I heard shots a mile North. They'd pulled onto my place running them. As I made my way back to the house, my wife pulled in for lunch. If I hadn't been sick and my wife had come home minutes earlier...
