Matt, You've already been told everything I know. Not to make you feel bad, but thought I'd mention that I'll be picking ripe tomatoes for another month here. We had our usual great crop. Tomatillos, always later, look like they're trying to conquer the world. I only cage to 5' high and then they sprawl. Been told that this was a poor year for tomatoes here, but my plants produced as well as ever. Raised beds with soil I've been working on for several years is paying off. Tried no-till this year and will be doing it again. Got so many volunteers that I'm not going to start any indoors for next year. Compost is the key. I'm getting pretty close to permaculture with cilantro and arugula and snow peas mixed in with the tomatoes. Everything self-seeds. Read recently that my crop mixture is a form of green manure but I don't know how it works. Just growing what we want to eat. Hope your next year is better.
