Myself i would be checking the flow first before condeming the pump ya could have a restriction in the line and when she is callen for more fuel it is not getting it and when ya let it idel down she starts to refill the filters . It should have a good strong flow going to the filters and if not then shot some air back thru the line . I have found all sorts of things in a fuel tank and now nothing supprise me . Then and only then would i pull the pump.
