They're actually all original in their starting/electrical systems so I can't help you much. I know 12 volt will help you spin it faster, but I've always been able to make a six volt system adequate for my needs. I've read about people switching them, but I don't know for sure what you've got to do. I'm sure someone will step in and show you the way here pretty soon. Sorry for my lack of help. David
