I have no experience with the 460. But I had an 87 with the 302 and 208,000 miles and a 97 with the 5.0 and 147,000 miles and never a problem. And interstate driving is the easiest kind (assuming the driver wasn't hard on it) and 4000 lbs in not much to tow.
