I think you are worrying about the wrong thing. Pretty sure PM is so pervasive that spores are going to be just about everywhere. If there is more this year than last, chances are the conditions were just better. I grow those monster punkins around here and it can be a bit of a nuisance. Doesn't seem like a hand sprayer with a little fungicide would be too risky to the neighbor. I applaud your concern, though. Wish my neighbors were as good.
