Yes there is; Now here is where it gets tricky. Cycle time (the number of times the actuator is to function in a given amount of time) enters into the answer. Example: A hydraulic motor will require a larger reservoir than a double acting cylinder. Tell me what you have in mind. Also a given rule is reservoir should be 2-1/2 to 3 times pump flow. I can give you examples where that is too large and also applications where it is way too small. J.
