Guys, I have converted an old tractor - a Gibson - from a 6 volt system to 12. I have changed the generator to an alternator with voltage regulation. I have changed the coil to 12 volts. But the coil and most 6 to 12 volt conversion kits mention a 12 volt resistor. What does the 12 volt resistor do? How do I wire it in? Where do I get just the 12 volt resistor? I did not order a 6 to 12 volt conversion kit so am putting it together myself.
