Made a post Friday about my 8N not turning over after running fine for 30 minutes or so... old and Maark were kind enough to reply with suggestions. Thanks, however I have not been able to get it going yet. Tried jumping across the big terminals on the solenoid and from the the small terminal to the positive on the battery (6v pos ground) even tried another starter solenoid. Took out the starter...it wasn't jammed. Cleaned the battery posts and the battery charger indicated a full charge. There is an ever so slight audible noise in the solenoid when the starter button is pushed. It was previously a stronger sound which you could feel when touching the solenoid. Ammeter now shows no draw with the key on and -5amps with the light switch on which previously was a little with the key and more with the lights. I pull started it to move it to a better spot to work on it and after a minute or two it just died like you turned the key off. Electrical systems are not my strong point, but how complicated can it be? Could there be a particular wire that got burned or otherwise damaged to cause these symptoms? I don't think there are any fuses other than the light switch. Could the voltage regulator cause any of this? Anybody got any ideas? Thanks, jim
