Craig --- your absolutely right --- When I attended Computer Electronics College, that's what they taught you, swap the boards out, and keep swapping till it works, I said -- no way, so after graduation, I attended an Air Craft Avionics School, Now that Course taught you to trouble shoot the problem and replace the component(s), I think the reason for this is because the boards were too expensive to swap out...
any way -- that gave me the training I needed, and been happy ever sence --- helping others.
