The Ford mowers were great on a Ford or MF tractor with the category 1 liftarms. There is a clamp mechanism that attaches to each liftarm. One unit stabilizes the side to side motion of the mower, there would be a lot of side to side shake since it is a pitman drive unit. The other unit causes the tension to increase on a chain connected to the cutterbar making it pivot upward when the mower is lifted. These mowers also used their own toplink which was connected to a large coil spring to control the lowering speed of the mower. If you trade mowers you will not be any better off with a NH451 (although one of the best mowers made) because it utilizes a yoke that connects to the tractor end of the toplink for the extra blade lift and side to side stabilization. There are many old JD and IH mowers that bolted to the drawbar loops on the old Hs and Ms as well as the quickhitch drawbars. It was mentioned earlier to get a quickhitch mower, that would be your easiest answer. There is often one for sale on this site or E-bay.
