Ford 501 Sickle hitch

Hi All. I recently bought a used 501 sickle in good shape. The hitch on the sickle is something I"ve never seen before and won"t attach to my 56" IH300. I went to my local equipment dealer and was told the sickle has a ball hitch and my tractor has a quick hitch. When I asked if there was a way to convert the sickle to my hitch I was told it would be cheaper to buy another tractor ? Am I up against a wall with this ? Thanks. Randy.
