Last year, my Mom at the age of 86 was diagnosed with chronic leukemia. She was given the choice of 5 weeks of intensive chemo therapy with a 5% chance at survival. She made the decision to decline the therapy and lasted just 5 weeks without it. The Hospice program provided assistance in the final weeks.
