Well, there certainly is a connection to government...like on the federal, state, and local levels. What has any one of them done to bring you, your family, your neighbors and friends one single drop of oil? Pumped it out of the ground? Nope. Refined it? Nope? Delivered it? Nope? Name one single thing. Just one, other than tax the crap out of it for having done...not a single thing. I've heard all kinds of politicians saying that those micro cars were killing them because get such incredible milage, rarely stop at the pumps, and use the roads, but don't bring in enough taxes to maintain the roads...taxes gotta go up somewhere to do that. They must've forgotten that they'd said that, because later said that we Americans have to cut back on our consumption because its at an all time high. So, taxes didn't go down, but consumption's at an all time high. Hmm? Who's making the windfall? Or at least one of the players making the windfall?
