You make several good points, however I don't understand how primimg the carb will make the engine hard to start? (The blister on my finger is just healing out - that primer lever can get hot! Wait an hour for the engine to cool, about 100 pumps on the prime, & full choke & mine will start again...) I & family members have worked with about 5 Wisconsin engines, new, old, & overhauled, and every one was hard to start when hot. I suppose a perfectly tuned one will start, but in my experience the odds are against you. :) Swathing this year was tough - it was 90 - 98 degrees, right on the edge of what my particular engine will take. I know, because it died of vapor lock - my fault, cleaned off the screen on the fan intake, wait an hour. Then it ran fine, went behind the grove out of the light breeze for 2 rounds, and it died, vapor lock. Waited an hour, got back out in the open & it ran fine until 7:00pm, when the breeze dies, and so did the engine, vapor lock.... Mind you, I like the engines, plan on running with it for years, & I would recommend it to the guy who wants to run the baler; but he should know that once you shut it off, or in extreme heat conditions, 9 out of 10 will give you problems with starting hot. --->Paul
