Just bought a Caprice with custom exhaust. It's got dual pipes, no cats, and glasspacks about halfway back. On the left side, at the very rear, the pipe comes within about an inch from the plastic fuel tank for a span of about four inches. No heat sheild. Should I worry about this? As best as I can tell the tank doesn't get hot, but I don't want to get blowed up. I just can't see a good way to fabricate a heat shield. Is there some sort of thin insulation I could wrap around the pipe?
