My experience is the same as Rick's. The smallest 10SI I seen is 37 amps - and then only the cheapest 70's era GM cars (base Chevy Nova, Vega, etc). Also many gas-powered tractors - IHC, Oliver, Massey etc. - used them.

However most (all?) 10SI reman's are rated at 55 or 63 amps. But all are indentical externally.

Keep in mind as long as the regulator is working, an oversize alternator should not overcharge or otherwise harm the battery. Just don't let the battery go dead and then jump start it the tractor (is. so the alternator sends full output into a dead battery). And make sure the wire that connects to the alt BAT terminal is heavy enough (#10 AWG minimum).
