the tractor has an aftermarket delco -remy distributor,not a magneto. it sits vertically instead of horizontal like the i-h distributors. the timing seems advanced by about 2 inches from the mark. the tractor seems to run the best there. the tractor origionally was a distillate but has a gas head on it. it just went thru a major overhaul, new sleeves, ect.
