JM, The pictures just don't do it justice. The field is literally green with weeds, most of ‘em small. After a rain, if we don't till the ground, it can blow, so the working of the ground actually serves two purposes. Yes, there are those (not many around here, tho) that use the herbicides and just let the ground stay in last year’s wheat stubble until planting time the following fall. Trash farming has always struck me the same way as same-sex unions and inter-racial marriages. Might be in vogue, fashionable and the “in thing” to do nowadays. I just don't like it and it's not for me, thanks. I’ll put ‘er back into buffalo grass first. :>) Allan
