OK- in my growing up years I heard about fallow ground, planting every other year- occasional tillage but not too much because of the loss of soil moisture------------but by your picture, I don't see heavy weed pressure (which consumes an inordinante amount of moisture)- so why the tillage already? ok- just because of the fun of tractor time! Also- do some let things grow for a half or full season, and knock it down with herbicides, instead of the fuel and time issues with timely tillage?
