Hot gas in tank

When I am running my tractor on a hot day, the gas tank gets so hot you can't hold your hand on it. The top of the motor is about one inch from the tank.The tank is surrounded by sheet metal, so there is not much air circulation. Now to my question, will the hot gas burn better? When the gas is hot it expands, will it last longer? Or should I get my radio fixed, and not think stuff like this? Stan
