Whoever told you Dodge transmissions are not that great has never had one or was someone mentioned on one of the other posts. A lot of problems stem from buying a truck that is too light and geared wrong for what they get used for. I have a 92 Dodge diesel with 240,000 miles on it. I personally put over 130,000 mile on it and have had no problems with the automatic transmission. I do pull loads on the trailer of 6500 pounds or more quite often. I have hauled my 12,000 lb tractor although I don"t recomend doing it.
