The Dodge auots aren't anything special but really up until GM started using the Allison there wasn't anything that held up very well in the diesel pickups. The good thing about the Dodge autos is they are pretty easy to upgrade to a near bullet proof transmission. I have a '99 2500 quad cab long box Cummins with the auto and 3:55 gears and when my transmission goes I'm going to get a rebuilt one from the link below.
