It could be just sticky from lack of use over the years so you might solve your problems by crawling underneith your tractor with a can of wd 40 and spraying the linkage or it could be the type that requires you to tap the brakes to disengage it, the Allis Chalmers 7000 and 8000 series had this but I haven't a clue about masseys. try that and see. HTH,
