Like Chuck,WA I"m just a hobby-farmer. I have 1.5 acres of my own and I also cut 4 acres for a neighbor (1 acre at his house and another 3 down the road a piece). I cut my 1.5 and the 3 acre piece last Tuesday, then it rained every day until Sunday. I finally got it baled yesterday (took 1/2 day off work). I only did 84 bales, dropping them on the ground, then picking them up later with the "69 Dodge flatbed and 18" trailer. Loaded almost all of them myself.....one man operation. I use a Ford 850 tractor and a Ford 542 baler...both ancient. I still have the 1 acre piece to cut and I also have 5 acres cut at my sister"s house that I"ll have to bale this weekend. Luckily I won"t have to pick that up since it"s her hay. I"ll leave the hard part to her and her hubby.
