Heat shielding/braiding on a fuel line

This isn't completely tractor related but tractors have fuel lines too so here it is:
I have an old fuel line on a moped and I need a new one. The old one is normal except it has red braiding around it for heat protection because it basically sits right on this engine block. I just need a fuel line like this or something to put over just a regular rubber fuel line for protection against vapor lock and completely melting a fuel line. It is one size smaller than 1/4 so maybe 7/32 or 3/16. Will vaccum line work for this or will the gas eat it away? Anybody know where to get anything like I described? Thanks
