V-8 conversion

I have inherited a small block Chevy V-8. It's a 1968 model with only 3000 miles on it. It was taken out of a wreck and "moth-balled". It so happens that I am in need of a tractor heavy enough to handle 1000 pound round bales, but I have limited funds.

I was thinking that if there is a tractor that would fairly easily convert to the V-8, maybe I could use the engine and have a useable tractor for not too much money.

Does anyone know if there is a tractor that is convertible without too much trouble? Maybe I could find one with a blown engine for not much money.

Is this more trouble/expense than it's worth? Am I crazy for considering it? Does anyone have experience with this? Any info will be appreciated.
